One Ounce Gold Krugerrand, dated 1967, are minted by the Rand Refinery. The South African Krugerrand was first produced in 1967 by the South African Chamber of Mines and doesn’t have an annually changing design, unlike other bullion coins. Over many decades this gold coin has become one of the most popular bullion coins chosen by investors. After its original productions and subsequent success, the Krugerrand galvanised many other gold mints to produce a bullion coin of equal standing. The coin features a likeness of Paul Kruger and on the obverse the Springbok, the national animal of South Africa. Only 40,000 of these coins were produced. For that reason, these Krugerrands carry a higher premium and are a prized purchase for collectors.
