Overview

Gold one ounce American Eagle coins are minted by The United States Mint. These coins have been produced since 1985. Each Eagle is imprinted with a "face value"; the one ounce coin is set at $50, although its value is of course based on the market price of its metal content.

This one ounce gold coin was one of the world's most popular during the nineties and displays an award winning depiction of an assortment of musical instruments, including violins, a harp and a Viennese horn.
