Overview

Gold one ounce American Eagle coins are minted by The United States Mint. These coins have been produced since 1985. Each Eagle is imprinted with a "face value"; the one ounce coin is set at $50, although its value is of course based on the market price of its metal content.

Like the 1oz Eagle it has a face value of $50. The coin depicts an Indian Head on the obverse, and a buffalo on the reverse.
