Overview

These coins are dated from 2014 onward. You may receive coins from several different years.

The 1oz Gold Britannia coin contains one troy ounce of fine Gold and is produced each year by the Royal Mint. Since 2013, the gold Britannia has been made with a fineness of 999.9, having previously been produced with a fineness of .916 (22ct). These coins are dated from 2014 onward, and though the year may vary, they are all 24ct coins.

Each 1oz Britannia is imprinted with a "face value"; this one ounce coin is set as "£100", although the value is of course based on the market price of its metal content.

The 1oz gold Britannia coins feature the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, and the iconic image of Britannia on the reverse.

These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) Free. AllUK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Tax free coins are available to buy from ATS Bullion and these include Sovereigns, half Sovereigns and gold and silver Britannias. Britannia One Ounce Gold Coin - mixed dates pre 2013

Britannia one ounce gold coins are issued by the Royal Mint and have a face value of £100. The first Britannia was minted in 1987. In 2013 the Royal Mint decided to produce the 1oz gold Britannia in 24 carat, as opposed to 22 carat. The actual gold content remains the same however. ATS Bullion, London's West End bullion dealer, is an authorised dealer of gold and silver Britannia coins. These coins also benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT) free. Please note that the date of the Britannia you receive may vary, but all coins will be in a good condition.
