Overview

These 24 carat 1oz Royal Mint coins celebrate the Chinese Lunar Calendar Year of the Pig. This is the 6th edition of the Lunar designs that the Royal Mint have produced. As with standard Britannia coins, they have a face value of £100 and are Capital Gains Tax Exempt (CGT free).

As with previous designs, the Lunar depiction has been created by the British Chinese artist Wuon-Gean Ho.

It is the first 1oz .9999 gold coin produced by the American mint, and was issued for the first time in 2006 as an alternative to the 1oz American Eagle to cater for those who prefer 24 carat gold coins.
