Victoria Young Head Half Sovereign
Unlike the full sovereign, the Young Head Half Sovereign was only issued with the Shield reverse for the duration of it's mintage. These coins benefit from being Capital Gains Tax (CGT)free. All UK gold and silver bullion coins manufactured by the Royal Mint are legal tender and are exempt from Capital Gains Tax. Tax free coins are available to buy from ATS Bullion and these include Sovereigns, half Sovereigns, one ounce gold Britannia, half ounce gold Britannia and silver one ounce Britannia.

George V Half Sovereign
The George V Half Sovereign was minted by the Royal Mint from 1911-1926. George V reigned during a turbulent era for the Royal family and Great Britain. He reigned throughout World War I and during the Great Depression. It is for this reason that the production of the George V half Sovereigns was sporadic and does not span the duration of his reign, unlike his predecessors. These coins display a portrait of George V and on the reverse Benedetto Pistrucci's design of St. George and the Dragon.
